Junior Baseball Organization (JBO)
JBO: 7th and 8th Grade
LYB offers 7th/8th graders (ages 12-14) the opportunity to play baseball at a highly competitive level (including tournaments) through Lincoln Junior Baseball Organization (JBO).
This level requires a higher level of commitment from players who are selected during annual player evaluations with three divisions of competition:
- National - Players with beginning or recreation-level skills
- American - Players with intermediate-level skills
- Federal - Players at the highest skill level
JBO teams play on regulation baseball (MLB) sized fields. Bases are 90 feet apart and the pitching distance is 60 feet 6 inches.
Winter Training and Evaluations
JBO players will also be participating in Winter training: One pitching practice at Lincoln High School on Mondays (7:45 pm - 8:45 pm), all skills practice on Thursdays at Zidell (likely 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm), and all skills practice on Sundays at Lincoln High School on Sundays (7:00 pm - 9:00 pm).
Supplemental Lincoln High School coach training for hitting, pitching, or catching is available for JBO players, in addition to Little League players. Register at
lincolnbaseball.org/programs-donations.
Evaluations for JBO will be after the Winter Training. Read more about evaluations here.
LYB Playerships Available
Lincoln Youth Baseball is committed to providing youth a positive baseball experience and do not want the cost of registration to prevent anyone from being able to play. Before you register, fill out the Playership Application Form and contact [email protected] for questions.
