END OF SEASON DISTRICT TOURNAMENTS
Players in the AAA and Majors divisions are eligible for two types of post-season District tournament teams that LYB forms to compete against other surrounding leagues: All Stars and Honors. Both tournaments involve a competitive, higher level of play than the regular season and require a considerable time commitment. The managers, coaches, players, and families participating in these tournaments represent LYB and are expected to show exemplary character and sportsmanship.
All Stars
The All Stars Tournament is a competitive tournament organized by Oregon Little League District Four. Players are expected to be available for near daily baseball activities when the regular season concludes on June 7 through the end of the tournament and provide necessary documentation on age and residence for certification by the District.
Player selection to these teams will be contingent on a) availability for the tournament dates, b) performance at tryouts, and c) regular season coach assessments. The most competitive players will be rostered.
All Stars teams can be formed for players league age 8 - 10, 9 - 11, and 10 - 12. More commonly, these are referred to as 10U, 11U, and 12U teams. Eligibility will be based on a player’s league age and not their LYB regular season division.
Players league age 10 may be considered for the 10U, 11U, and/or 12U tournament
Players league age 11 may be considered for the 11U and/or 12U tournament
Players league age 11 may be considered for the 12U tournament
** LYB will form an 11U team based on interest and availability of enough players and coaches **
All Stars tournament dates have been set by District Four as:
9-11 & 8-10 @ Cook Park and Sunset Park - Friday, June 19 to Thursday, June 26
10 - 12 @ Lake Oswego - Saturday, June 27 to Friday, July 3

Honors
The Honors Tournament is organized by local District Four Little Leagues that collaborate to provide additional tournament opportunity and experience. Tournament teams may be formed for players league age 8 - 10 and 10 - 12. Player selection to these teams will be contingent upon a) availability for the tournament dates, and b) regular season coach’s nomination based equally on demonstration of skill and exemplary character and sportsmanship.
Games are played in northwest and southwest Portland, and to the south in Tigard, Wilsonville, and Lake Oswego.
Honors tournament dates are tentatively set as:
8-10: Wednesday, June 10 - Wednesday, June 17 (hosted by Cedar Mill Little League)
10 - 12: tentatively Wednesday, June 10 - Wednesday, June 17 (hosted by Murray Hill Little League)
TOURNAMENT TEAM SELECTION PROCESS
LYB will determine the number of types of post season tournament teams based on player and coach availability. In early May, LYB will distribute the District Tournament Interest Form to all eligible players. By May 9, players must respond to the form if they are interested in participating in the All Stars and/or Honors tournaments.
After a player responds to the District Tournament Interest Form, LYB will contact that player’s coach to collect an assessment of the player’s skill, readiness for tournament play, and demonstration of exemplary character and sportsmanship.
Players are selected to the All Stars teams through strong performance at tryouts on May 17, in addition to their regular season coaches’ assessment of skill, readiness for tournament play, and demonstration of exemplary character and sportsmanship. The most competitive team will be rostered. Players who cannot make the scheduled tryout should contact [email protected] ASAP.
MANAGER SELECTION PROCESS
Individuals interested in Managing an All Stars or Honors team should be nominated or self-nominate by end of day May 6 (email [email protected])
All Stars: All Stars Managers are selected via a vote by regular season HCs and one AC per team; once selected, Managers appoint two coaches.
Honors: The candidate with the next highest vote count is offered the Honors Manager position.
- Players of Managers/Coaches are not automatically rostered and must go through the evaluation process.
